Apple Orchard

We went to the apple orchard and these are some of my favorite pictures!

20/20 or even a bit better!

After going to "preschool screaming" as the kids call it, the screener thought that Lukas' eyes didn't track together.  She thought maybe one lazy eye.  I was surprised, I have NEVER noticed it before.  I ended up setting up an eye exam to make sure I had not missed it.  So after a very long 90 min. appointment Lukas walked out with sun glass, sucker and amazing vision.

today....stomp on toys day.

Today turned out to be one of those days you just wanna step on your favorite toy.  At the grocery store while Sadie was pitching her typical "hy-vee" fit.  With a smile, I asked a produce guy if he could just growl at her or give her a mad face.  His reply, "I could get her a cookie or balloon".  My response- "Noooo".  I said it in a tone as, really?  You got to be kidding me- a balloon reward for this?  HA!

Although Sadie keeps me hopin' and keeps outings exciting like when in her usually loud and clearly understandable English, she asked me (at TJ  Max in front of several grandma type ladies) "Mom, you like old ladies?"  At those times, I am thankful for Sam and Lukas who very much take after their father and his "Yup, that too shall pass" personality!

Non-uniform day!

The first Friday of the month is non uniform day.  Usually the kids are suggested to wear a certain color for an upcoming holiday or event.  I THOUGHT I had read that September's non uniform day was Lourdes colors for homecoming.  The kids looked MARVELOUS!  Luckily, I was wrong and it wasn't any color day....LOURDES colors are to be worn THIS coming Friday as an extra out of uniform treat!  Good thing the kids don't know I goofed!  Well this is what they looked like on the first Friday in September and this is what they will look like on this next Friday in September!
Sam- typical Willaert boy, play with sticks at the bus stop!  Sadie and Lukas both packed lunches to get on the bus too!

Thank you for the stickers!

These pictures are of some stickers we received from Aunt Natalie who got them from a friend at work.  We finally got to post some pictures as a Thank you to Natalie's friend for the amazingly awesome stickers.  The stickers are about the size of the kids' heads.  They look VERY official and important.  One sticker ended up on the living room wall which has now been removed.  One ended up on the girls door.  As you can see from the picture they followed my rule of sticking stickers on paper then to the wall....rather than straight on the wall.  The writing on the paper says something about no boys allowed just girls and mom and dad and you can come in if you ask and....it goes on and on.

The boys stuck one sticker on their bed.  They never remember the rule of sticking stickers on paper first.  They stuck it straight on the bed...and there it will stay.  They feel very important.  This picture is also like find waldo, find Sadie.  She had just gotten out of the bath and wanted a picture of her "doing this".  Sorry this picture got slightly fuzzy....

Sam goes up...

Sam is now a pro at going UP stairs, now just to either learn how to go down or make up his mind.  He seems to crawl up the stairs and then suddenly realize he really wants to be at the bottom of them.  When we help him down he turns around and heads right back up the steps only to change his mind when he reaches to the top!  Last night I thought Brian had Sam.... Brian thought Sam was with me.  We found him 1/2 way up the stairs to the upstairs!  He must have been headed to bed!  Silly Sam!

picture update-

We miss uncle Barcley...and so to show U.B we were thinking of him the kids posed by a huge Barcley. .....barcley they, don't get that you probably don't like Marines...we tried to tell them but they thought FOR SURE YOU WOULD LOVE this picture! ;)

Standing by the crotch-

Lukas and the boat he made at the home depot booth.  He REALLY wanted to pose by this rock with his boat.

Lukas won this apple at a farm booth at the state fair!  Nice apple....he was so proud it was tiny.

GAbby and her tiny apple.
Mashed potatoes do not make for a good facial.

They teamed up to make a bed for Sam.  Too bad Sam doesn't like to be still.

This was birthday cake frosting.  It didn't start out as poop color but when you mixed all the frosting- poof - poop!

test run!

Today we started our test runs for school.  Just trying to get back into the swing of getting ready for the bus.  The school year bus rules are back...getting dressed before you come downstairs, breakfast before TV, brushing hair is again a requirement and underpants are a must!  Uniforms and shoes were not a requirement today.  So here are the pictures with proof of the time they were ready to walk out the door to the bus....the bus comes at 8:10.... you can tell if they would have made it or not!

First out of the gate Lucia with backpack to boot! 7:19

Gabby, 7:20: too cool to be in the same shot as a clock!?

Nate ready to roll, 7:26.  Still has allergy medss to take but since he is smiling he gets credit anyways!

Sadie feeling chipper at 7:28, why can't the bus take her too?

Daddy's is back on track and headed out the door on his bike at 7:34...he did skip his chore of feeding the chickens, another smile, check!

Lukas was to "cold" to participate.  I sure hope the cookies warmed him up!

As I write this Sam is STILL in the highchair eating fruit loops and a cookie some child gave him.  So today I will feel accomplished that I MADE it through the trial run....now to go and eat breakfast and do my hair but hey, Cindy the bus drive will at least appreciate that I am dressed as I walk them to the bus stop!  School starts in two weeks!

Eggs!

WE have eggs!  We can't believe it!  The white egg is a large egg from hy-vee.  I think ours are a bit prettier color wise!

Sam is learning to crawl.

Sam is learning to crawl and typical Sam motto is: Sam Speed.  Slow and Steady wins the race.  Still working on the "steady" though.    I think most of you have seen this so I am posting it for Megan.  I am guessing you are at school and out of the baby sitting market till a holiday break.  Maybe Sam will be walking.  The kids were talking about you and miss you.  Megan...haven't you graduated YET?  ;)

"take a picture...."

This is another moment when Sadie declared, "Take a picture of me doing this, mom".  She was folding her arms and threw her hip to the side.  She was very defiant today that she is 7, NOT 2!

really? who did this?

I have been short on pictures since our camera was left out in the rain shortly after my last post.  We have another older camera so I started using that lately.  I took pictures of this because some day I will look back and hopefully laugh.  I made short cake for strawberries and shortcake.  We also made pudding.  I put Sam down for a nap and return to the below pictures.  What kind of animals do I live with?

7.13.2011

an oldie-

Brian and I were looking at pictures from the road trip to CA.  I think I even posted this picture before.  It still makes me laugh.....I think it looks like Sadie is chasing after us as we drive away.

Sadie has been yelling at me a lot lately.  She also is now telling me she can read.  Conveniently enough the words always benefit her side of the debate and never me.  I still pray some day all of this PERSONALITY will benefit her.

Just wanted to tell crayola I am amazed at how well their yellow crayon managed to touch every item of clothing in a huge wash load.  And how bright the color staying power is after two rounds through the "sanitize" cycle.

7.12.2011

hey ladies,

Attention attention all Sam's lady friends (Avery, Anika, Emmalyn (in no particular order))- We are proud and excited to announce that Samuel now can roll over!  He tends to get stuck when on his belly, surprise surprise- the easy way is what trips him up.  He is also starting to lean out on his hands and reach for things that are out of reach for him.  Leaning is the start to crawling.....don't hold your breath, we aren't.  He sure is stinking cute though, and so happy!

Sam follows up with the doctors about his brain bleed from birth next week.

hurry to the next

When we got to Natalie's, Sadie was so excited to see the orange tree she had to have her picture taken by every plant in Natalie's yard.

Off to the next, too bad she didn't stand still long enough for this picture.

Hmmmm now where?

7.09.2011

One more tonight-

Just a quick photo from the plane.  Sadie was working at her "desk" on the plane as we prepared to take off.  As you can she she was pretty hot and sweaty.  Only one of the A.C.s was working while we sat at the gate.  Once we got airborne things cooled off nicely.  Sadie and Sam did great on the flight out and back.  More pictures to follow tomorrow!

Busy Summer-

Sorry for the lack of posts, we have been busy with SUMMER.  San Diego trip pictures will follow soon!  Quick up date for now- San Diego was beautiful.  Chickens still aren't laying eggs.  This month still holds VBS and swimming lessons.  Summer isn't even half over, even if Wal-mart already has school supply sales out.

Wii Dance

We got the wii dance game and let me say we have some AMAZING dancers.  They must get it from their father or Aunties!  Here are a couple links!

another happy face.

Here Lukas is celebrating Sadie having her own bed which in turn means he now has his own bed!  I think in the end he will be sad he has no one to blame the ruckus on now that Sadie has moved out.  This picture was taken right before bed.  Lukas was milkin' the wear "wake up" clothes to bed so in the morning you are ready to roll.... Jean shorts and a collared shirt, perfect sleeping attire.

6.25.2011

the deal is sealed...

I think this means we are staying at 515 18th Ave.  We purchased a set of bunks to make the girls room accommodate all 3 girls.  The kids are thrilled and attempt to ALL sleep together but it never lasts for long.  Sadie now has her own bed and is no longer in the boys' room.  She is so excited.  Sadie keeps telling us "I big girl".  She just jumps and jumps on that bed.  Funny to see how she knows it is HER bed.  She is strutting the power and authority over that bed like no body's business.

We added a string of rope lighting to brighten the bottom bunk.  Sure makes it feel more spacious and enjoyable.

more posts if I find a camera!

I plan on posting more photos once I can find that silly camera.  I have a couple videos on the memory card to move to youtube and a few photos dying to be snapped around here.  Blogspot seemed to be having a hard time this morning uploading photos too.  Hopefully it will all come together soon since there is 2 month supply of toothpaste squirted in our bathroom sink that I need to get a picture of for the blog.  I guess in my prayer over the red marker I should have been more thankful for the quiet time when Sadie was sleeping and who cares about a marker!  Off to search for that missing camera!

WHAT? WAIT WHAT?

WHAT? WAIT WHAT?

The phone rang- Brian calling from his prepaid cell is never a good thing to see on the caller ID.  Heeelllloooooo?

"Quick go check the garage for my bike."
I walk out to the garage knowing full well it isn't in there but I humor Brian and did it anyways....nope no bike.  Sadly, Brian's bike that carried him many miles in college and to work was missing today after work.  This is the same bike that crashed into the car last summer.  We looked at replacing it then but it wasn't too badly beat up.  A quick tune up and it was back better than ever- I guess God knew we wouldn't have it long so why bother with a new bike till now.  We filed a police report and were told if it was nice, it might turn up in a pawn shop.  "Not so nice bikes" are left places and sometimes recovered from being found randomly.  Here is to hoping it is found somewhere in town.  It has red stars on the handle bar grippers if you happen to see a red bike laying around town.  Just so happened we had a sitter tonight to watch the kids so we could go out to eat and do something "fun" I guess fun means bike shopping.  No purchase tonight but a few test drives are under his belt.  A new bike is a tough decision and one BIG purchase....we consider it a second car! :)  With no luck we headed to slumberland to look at bunk beds on sale, another purchase we have been debating.  Again not much luck since the beds we were looking at aren't able to ship till SEPTEMBER!  WHAT? WAIT WHAT?

Back to the pavement tomorrow!  At least Brian doesn't have to worry about having his bike stolen tomorrow!  :)  a few post back there is a picture of Brian on his bike towing the kids' bike and trailer.

Lukas-

Just a cool picture of Lukas tearing up the street.

6.17.2011

summer break's nightly routine

Summer Break brings lots of long nights of giggling and running from bedroom to bedroom....until you pass out from exhaustion.

6.16.2011

My prayer for today.

Dear Sweet Little Baby Jesus,
Thank you for washable markers that are actually washable.  Thank you for Tide Stain Release which really works.  I appreciate the coupon for stain release that I found last week too.  Thank you for blessing me with quiet time today while Sadie napped.  Next time she naps could you have the tooth fairy check to make sure she isn't sleeping on a Red Crayola Markers....or maybe let her stay awake a second longer to get the cap on the marker.  AMEN.

Best Brother

Our kids LOVE frozen chicken nuggets.  Luke came down after going to be a few nights ago and asked if he could have one.  I guess he also thought Nate would like a nugget while he was at it.  However, Nate was a sleep when Luke brought it to him, I guess Lukas thought he might like it later!  :)  This is how we found Nate when we went to bed.

6.11.2011

chicken out and about-

The construction on the fenced in yard of the chicken coop is almost done!  While Brian was working Gabby took one of the chickens for a walk.  As you can see the chickens are almost full grown!  We think they will start laying eggs in July.
