keeping score-

For those of you who are keeping score Sadie is 2/4!  She woke up dry and peed on the potty twice today!  and twice in her pants....tomorrow we can only improve, actually I would just be happy if she had the same score as today!  Go Sadie! :)

hard to believe

Tonight, Avery's mom and I managed to connect.  We re-hashed memories from the NICU.  It is hard to believe that only 9months ago we were deep in the trenches of oxygen and feeding tubes.  We both agree that it was in the bigger plans that Sam and Avery came early...God knew we couldn't have survived that NICU alone- too many late night and early morning feeds to not have another insane mother there too.

Barcley's moma...

Barcley's Momma recently sent us some kid sized cooking utensils.  Sadly they are nicer than the "adult" size cooking utensils I use everyday.  We have made several meals with the handy dandy kitchen tools for kids.  I have a thank you and more pictures ready to mail out to Mrs. Diane. 

Side note- Sadie usually does NOT cook in her undies.  She also failed at the undies that day and went back to diapers.  Starting Monday we are back on the undies and only one of us will win- it better be me!

Old Man Lukas-

Lukas did his favorite thing today...go to the barber shop.  He got his hair buzzed, which I could totally do at home but not as good.  He loves to go to the barber shop because they cut, wash, hot towel on his face and a shoulder rub.  He also loves to chit chat with the girl cutting his hair!  Silly little man!

Sam-

Growing hair and teeth is hard work, but he already has two teeth cut in and moving right along on the hair.  Hasn't rolled over since special ed. was here and tricked him into rolling over .......with help!

Rules: Luke has to be sitting on the potty with the door open. Lucia, while standing outside the bathroom says, "are you ready to be scared?" Lukas, "yep". Lucia then jumps out and screams BOOO! Then Lukas screams in fright.......repeat until you are me and want to freak out!

Fire Hydrant

Flushing the fire hydrant up the street from our house.  I wish the city would give me notice when they are planning to do it.  They flush the hydrant every month or so since we live on a dead-end.  The kids love playing in it when we happen to catch them.

The chicks are getting bigger and bigger by the day.  I swear they are bigger each morning.  The chicks now like to sit on the side of the tote.  I think that means they are ready to be moved to a real home and not a rubbermaid tote!  Lukas has found his mission in life, he is a chicken whisperer.  He is so good with them.  Whenever a chicken is about to escape Lukas is the one that always "rescues" them back into the tote!  Lukas loves to wear his farm pants (overalls) with his tie dyed shirt EVERY day!

On a side note- we had a chicken earn his name today.  Backies (barcley for those of you who don't speak "sadie") the chicken, flew out of the HUGE Rubbermaid tote that they all live in and was walking around like he owned the place.  Backies is named after Uncle Barcley who flew out of his home today as well.  We will miss Barkley tons, he is headed to his 12 month deployment to Afghanistan.  Hopefully it makes you smile to think, there is a chicken named after Barcley! Love to you, left here at home.  This picture is also for Barcley because we all know Sadie is his favorite!

Already- tought day for Lukas...

Yup, that is right, Lukas had to put all new wake up clothes on to start the day out.  Last night he only wore a shirt to bed which put him behind from the get go but the syrup from the pancake did his shirt in.  ROUGH Lukas- ROUGH!  Honestly, I am worried about his college days already.

The dress in the above photo was given to Lucia by Jenna, Gabrielle's good friend.  This day the dress was like musical dress.  Sadie wore it till the excitement and compliments wore off...then (while in public) she stripped down and Lucia put the dress on.  Sadie continued her day in shirt and tights, a girl's most favorite outfit EVER!

Productive day......this was the highlight of Nate's day.  When asked what he did at school he whipped this out...It is a hang glider.  By the looks of it, I think he spent the majority of the day working on it.

Goals!

I am excited to say that Sam finally has a goal....his goal is to get less food on his face and more in his mouth.  He is also doing AMAZING at working towards his goal!  See such little food on his face you almost don't notice it in the picture!  Getting teeth and growing hair are also goals he is working on!

What the future holds...

Assuming that my girls are headed down the road of clothing alterations and clothes for cheap this is what my future looks like.  Please note I did not get Natalie's approval for these photos!  My only hope is that Barcley enjoys them and therefore, Natalie doesn't kill me!  :)

This shirt (several years ago) Natalie bought new it was XXL Men's Shirt- I think she paid all of $1 for it on clearance.  This is mid way through the alterations.  Do you like that she left the tag on the sleeve.  What did she think we were going to return it if it didn't work out?

Natalie's Nieces.....(need I say more?)

Gabrielle's Girl Scout troop is hosting a spring dance, the theme is "disco".  Costumes are highly encouraged and all the kids get to go.  Earlier this week the kids and I hit up Savers to find some clothes.  Needless to say the dresses we found will need a few alterations, which has me worried!  If I am altering dresses for first grade, what will I be doing in high school?  Natalie (my sister in CA) would always have me alter clothing for her.  And I don't mean take in a shirt or shorten a skirt- I mean DRASTIC alterations.  I am working to find a few pictures of things I did for her and will post them when I find them. Here are the girls in their "BEFORE" pictures!  "After" pictures will follow!  The boys also got clothes to wear..pics to follow soon!

Spring break is over!

Spring break is over and the fun is done...Now just back to the daily grind of these three hoodlums and Sam.

Today Lukas only had to put on a new shirt since he wore "wake-up" pants to bed!  It was a tough day.  :)

Improvements!

No- not house improvements (yet) but improvements that have been going on IN the Willaert house!  I couldn't get picture of ALL of the changes that have been going on - nor would you want to see it all BUT I do have an old picture of our house!  Here is a list of our advancements in....well, life I guess!

• Nate can now tie his own shoes laces! Won't his teacher be happy!
• Lukas can now pee standing up!  YAY for Luke...means more cleaning for me.
• Sam eats majority of baby food now and formula/bottles for a topper off.  And has slept through the night for over a 2weeks now!
• Sadie made it through mass tonight with only being taken out twice!  Small steps people!
• Gabrielle can read Buzz Boy and Fly Guy books!  Real page turners. 
• Lucia is a willing participant during gym time when they are supposed to "dance".  HA!
• Lukas can put on his own shoes and velcro them.  Watch out laces- here we come. and yes, we still have to buy him XXwide shoes.  It will be a life long battle for him.
• Brian is only 3 weeks away from being done with school for the year!  Then he will be at 19 out of 31 credits for his "masters in computer nerdism", as I call it.....over half done!!

So I have lots and LOTS to cover in this post so here we go-

This is Sam- This is Sam starving. This is Sam, he enjoys green eggs and ham and anything that comes near his mouth...if only he was so determine when it came to rolling over or at being and 8 month old! :)

Next we got some chicks!  Yup- chicks....no idea what I was thinking....we are in about $50 with this adventure and it might end in dinner!  :)  We got layers so we will for sure get breakfast out of them, eventually!  So far one of them have a name- peep.  The kids swear they know which "one" he is but I can't tell him from the others who's names very....Golden, Melissa, Avery and Squeak all swap names interchangeable at any notice!

Lukas- Mr. Happy....

Lukas went through about two months of having never ending list of "ailments" as we call them and has come out on the other side as the happiest kid around.

His NEW favorite thing is to wear "wake up clothes" to bed so when he wakes up in the morning he is dressed and ready to roll!  The shirt he has on above I think is worn every other day!  What else would you expect such a happy guy to wear other than tie dye?
